        Notes and Trips for 2008

 

            September 10, Wednesday, Trip to Arrow Rock, Mo. to Lyceum Theatre to see “On Golden Pond.”  Cost is $92.00 each.

            The entire village of Arrow Rock has been designated a National Historic Landmark recognizing its association with the Westward Expansion, the Santa Fe Trail and Artist George Caleb Bingham.

            We will enjoy a family style fried chicken dinner at the Historic Arrow Rock Tavern, which is the oldest continuously operating restaurant west of the Mississippi. We will then take a one hour walking house, gun shop and tavern tour. At the end of the tour, we will see “On Golden Pond”, a romantic comedy/drama at the Lyceum Theatre.

            We will leave Immanuel Church parking lot at 7:00 A.M. and return around 8:30 P.M. Eat breakfast before we leave.

            Trip includes transportation, dinner, performance ticket, gratuities and guided walking tour. We will make a fast food stop on the way home.   SIGN UP AND PAY BY AUGUST 1, 2008.  PAYMENT IS DUE WHEN RESERVATION IS MADE.

 

            October 23, Thursday, “Mystery Trip”, Cost $85.00 each. Leave Immanuel at 6J) A.M. return around 8:00 P.M.   SIGN UP AND PAY BY SEPTEMBER 23, 2008.  PAYMENT IS DUE WHEN RESERVATION IS MADE.

 

November 13-15, Thursday-Saturday, “Branson Christmas and Noah the MusicalBranson, MO,   Cost $379.00 each. Cost based on double occupancy. Join us as we once again travel to Branson, MO to visit “An Old Time Christmas” at  Silver Dollar City and especially to see “Noah the Musical”  in the brand new Sight and Sound Theatre.  We will also see the “Acrobats of China  and the “Doug Gabriel Morning Show”.  On the way we will eat breakfast at McDonalds in Festus (on your own) and enjoy a filling noon meal at Lambert’s Café in Ozark, MO. Friday evening we will eat at the Paradise Grill before going to see Noah.  On the way home we will stop at the outlet mall for shopping and lunch (on your own).  For the evening meal we will eat at Missouri Hick’s BBQ in Cuba, MO.  We will leave at 6:00 A.M. on Thursday and return about 7:30 P.M. Saturday. 

Trip includes transportation, all admissions, lodging at Super 8, meals except as noted, luggage handling and all gratuities, SIGN UP AND PAY BY SEPTEMBER 26, 2008.  A $100.00 DEPOSIT IS REQUIRED TO SECURE YOUR RESERVATION THIS IS REFUNDABLE UNTIL SEPTEMBER 26, 2008.

 

December 12, Friday, “Radio City Christmas Spectacular at the FOX”.  Cost $??.??

1:00 P.M. Performance, starring the RADIO CITY ROCKETTES

The Radio City Christmas Spectacular starring the world famous Radio City Rockettes is an unparalleled Christmas show featuring the Rockettes’ signature high kicks and precision choreography in multiple show stopping numbers, including the legendary “Parade of the Wooden Soldiers” and “New York at Christmas,” a dynamic holiday celebration.  Families will be delighted and touched as teddy bears dance, reindeer fly and the true meaning of Christmas comes to life in the awe-inspiring “Living Nativity”,   The Radio City Christmas Spectacular has dazzled and inspired over 65 million people for more than 75 years and continues to create memories that last forever.  

Leave Immanuel at 10:00 A.M. and return home about 5:00 P.M.  Seating will be downstairs on the main floor. 

You’re welcome to bring snacks and drinks on board the coach (NO GLASS CONTAINERS).

Imagine yourself on an incredible journey thru the Great Southwest as we begin the trip of a lifetime. 

            We travel in style aboard an air-conditioned, video and restroom equipped motorcoach.

            Also, for the first time ever we have our very own experienced, knowledgeable tour director to assure the group’s comfort and convenience, and provide informative commentary in route.  Our vacation begins on:

            Day 1 - Friday:  When we leave Perryville for Oklahoma City, OK. We will experience a visit to “POPS”, known for its hundreds of different brands of soda – Lodging and dinner in Oklahoma City.

            Day 2 - Saturday:  Oklahoma City to Albuquerque, NM (two night stay) – morning visit to Oklahoma City National Memorial – Lodging and dinner in Albuquerque.

            Day 3 - Sunday:  Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta – Ride on the Sandia Peak Aerial Tramway to the 10,378 foot summit of Sandia Peak – Explore Old Town Albuquerque – Visit Indian Pueblo Cultural Center – Evening “Balloon Glow” – Lodging and dinner in Albuquerque.

            Day 4 - Monday:  Albuquerque to Holbrook, AZ (overnight stay) Guided Albuquerque City sightseeing tour - Visit Petrified Forest National Park, including the Painted Desert – Lodging and dinner in Holbrook.

            Day 5 - Tuesday:  Holbrook to Las Vegas, NV (two night stay) – Visit Hoover Dam, which spans the Colorado River to create Lake Mead – Lodging and dinner in Las Vegas.

            Day 6 - Wednesday:  Guided morning sightseeing tour of Vegas - Magic show and “City Lights” tour – Lodging and dinner in Las Vegas.

            Day 7 - Thursday:  Las Vegas to Kanab, UT (two night stay) – Scenic morning drive through the Virgin River Gorge – Afternoon tram tour at Zion National Park – Dinner and fun-filled audience participation re-creation of an old-time Western movie – Lodging in Kanab.

            Day 8 - Friday:  Sightseeing at the North Rim of the magnificent Grand Canyon National Park, including stops at Cape Royal, Point Imperial, Bright Angel Point and Grand Canyon Lodge – Lodging and dinner in Kanab.

            Day 9 -  Saturday:  Kanab to Escalante, UT (overnight stay) – Morning visit to Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park – Afternoon sightseeing of “Pink Cliffs” of Bryce Canyon National Park – Lodging and dinner in Escalante.

            Day 10 - Sunday:  Escalante to Grand Junction, CO (overnight stay) – Highway 12 “Scenic Byway” drive between Capital Reef and Bryce Canyon National Parks, traveling through Boulder and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument – Visit to Capital Reef National Park – Lodging and dinner in Grand Junction.

            Day 11 - Monday:  Grand Junction to Denver, CO (overnight stay) – Drive through the Colorado Rockies – Rifle - Glenwood Springs – Vail – Dillon - Eisenhower Memorial Tunnel and Georgetown – sightseeing tour of Denver – Lodging and dinner in Denver.

            Day 12 – Tuesday:  Denver to Abilene, KS (overnight stay) – Sightseeing at Cathedral of the Plains, Victoria, KS – Lodging and dinner in Abilene.

            Day 13 – Wednesday:  Abilene to Perryville, MO – Sightseeing at Eisenhower Center in Abilene, KS – Dinner in Missouri.

            Trip includes transportation -25 meals – 12 nights lodging in AAA approved facility –local “step-on” tour guides in Albuquerque, Las Vegas and Denver – luggage handling for one large suitcase per guest – all taxes, tips and insurance.
