The Staff at Immanuel Lutheran Church
1.  Rev. Thomas V. Handrick

3.  He earned an Associates degree in 1969 from Concordia Junior College in Austin, and continued his studies at Concordia Senior College, located in Fort Wayne, IN. He furthered his educational pursuits at the University of Maryland- European Division and earned his B.A. degree in Russian in 1974. This followed service as an enlisted man in the U.S. Army in 1971, where he served as a Russian linguist in West Berlin, Germany, from 1972 to 1974.

4.  He and his beloved wife Sally (nee) Reese were married in 1972. Sally earned a degree in elementary education from Concordia College, River Forest, Ill. They are the proud parents of three children: Heidi, Thomas Jr. and Timothy.

3.  BA in Biblical Studies with minors in both History and English from Southeastern College, Lakeland, FL.  M.Div. from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri.

4. Married 34 years to Christie Steffens, two married daughters, Deborah and Rachel; three granddaughters, Jackie Hotop, Logan and Hunter Koepke.

5. One day, during first grade, I announced to my parents that I would be a Lutheran Teacher. At that time it was expected that one would learn to play the piano and/or organ. I was encouraged by numerous people before reaching the goal of entering full-time church work.

6. My goal is to share the Gospel through music and teach children to sing, so that they can express their faith through song.

3. My husband, Keith, and I have been married for 20 years. We are blessed with two beautiful daughters, Sarah (a freshman) and Ashley (a senior) at PHS. I've been a member of Immanuel all my life. I really enjoy working for the church.

3. Retired with three children and eight grandchildren. Daughter, Vicky Moeckel Surman and son Ben live in Houston, Texas. Son, Dr. Keith Moeckel, Shelley, Tasha, Ryan and Alissa live here in Perryville. Daughter, Toni Moeckel Moll, husband Duane have four children, Karrie Kirsten, Evan and Hayden. They live in Cape Girardeau. The family is very sports-minded and keeps me busy keeping up!
